The Format

What is Stroke Play Tiers?

It's fantasy golf the way it should be. Each player in your contest drafts one golfer from each tier : Elite, Stars, Contenders, Sleepers, Dark Horses. Their combined stroke total over all four rounds determines the winner. Lowest score wins.

1
Every player picks one golfer from each tier before Thursday's first tee time. Picks are locked. No swapping mid-tournament.
2
Scores update live throughout the tournament. Your leaderboard reflects real strokes from Augusta National across all 4 rounds.
3
The entrant with the lowest combined stroke total wins. Simple to explain, exciting to watch . Anyone can compete.
4
Splash pays out winners automatically when the tournament ends. You don't collect money or Venmo anyone.
Example: 5 Tiers, 1 pick each
T1 Elite Top 5 ranked: Scheffler, McIlroy…
T2 Stars Ranked 6-15: Morikawa, Cantlay…
T3 Contenders Ranked 16-30: Burns, Fleetwood…
T4 Sleepers Ranked 31-50: Young, Griffin…
T5 Dark Horses Outside top 50: long shots, value picks
Tiers are built automatically from world rankings. You don't have to assign players. Splash does it when the field is set.

Don't Take Our Word for It

"
Best $25 I've spent on Masters week. Set it up in 10 minutes, everyone in the office was hooked through Sunday. Someone texted me on Monday asking if we're doing it again next year.

Office Pool Commissioner · 22 entries
"
I've done Venmo pools for years - chasing people for money, manually updating a spreadsheet, doing math at midnight Sunday. Never doing it that way again.
Sarah K.
Friend Group Commissioner · 14 entries
"
Had 47 entries this year. Splash handled the money, the scoring, and paid out winners automatically. I just watched the leaderboard and took credit for organizing it.

Questions

Commissioner FAQ

No. Splash Sports is a fantasy sports platform, which is legal in most US states under skill-based competition exemptions. You don't need any special license or permit. Check Splash's eligibility page for the handful of states with specific restrictions.
Nothing. Being a commissioner is free. Splash deducts 7.5% for payment processing and admin fees. If you opt in to Commissioner Rewards, 5% comes back to you - so winners receive 87.5% of the prize pool. On a $500 pool: $437.50 to winners, $37.50 to you as commissioner, $37.50 to Splash. No hidden charges.
Splash collects payment at entry. No one can join without paying. There's no "pay later" option. You'll never be stuck chasing anyone for money. Entry is complete only when payment clears.
Splash does. Once the Masters field is set, golfers are automatically assigned to tiers based on their Official World Golf Ranking. The Elite tier gets the highest-ranked players, Dark Horses get the long shots. You don't have to do any of this manually.
Golfers who withdraw or miss the cut score as though they played at par (or using the tournament's standard handling). This is why the Drop Worst Golfer setting is so valuable , which protects entrants from a bad luck withdrawal ruining their whole contest.
Splash is designed for paid contests. That's where it shines. For a free pool with a commissioner-funded prize, you'd need to set up a Free Roll contest (admin-created, requires pre-funding the prize pool). Most commissioner groups set a small entry fee ($5–$20) to keep it simple.
Automatically, once the Masters ends on Sunday. Splash calculates the final standings, applies the Drop Worst rule if set, confirms winners, and initiates payouts. Winners receive their money directly . No commissioner action needed.
As many as you want. You set the max entries cap. Most commissioners set it a bit higher than they expect, since Resizable mode will adjust the prize pool to actual entries. If you think 25 people will join, cap it at 40 so you have room to grow without pressure.
